Currently...

I attended the monthly Crackerbarrel session at the Vigo County Public Library this morning to get a sense of where things stand with our push towards getting Heavenlee's law into a committee hearing.

Alas, things are pretty much at a standstill for this legislative year, but both Rep. Jon Ford and Senator Tonya Pfaff assure me that they intend to get things on track for next year's legislative session.

We always knew these things would take time, but after 9 years, I wish things would go our way just once. Nonetheless, next month is the last Crackerbarrel session for this year. I plan to deliver a statement regarding the current state of things. I will provide a video of this statement when the time comes.

Once More Unto The Breach...

As you can see, it's been a few years since my last posting. It was necessary to take a break from the work after a particularly nasty encounter with Rep. Soliday, who apparently enjoys playing politics with the lives of Hoosier children.

Anyways, I had a very good meeting with Tonya Pfaff, a newly elected Indiana House Representative who is very supportive of our cause. Although she is a Democrat, I feel good about her prospects, but Time will tell.

I also had a very good meeting with Jon Ford, Indiana State Senator and someone who has demonstrated a willingness and ability to get good child safety issue legislation through the process. I felt really good after our meeting, though experience has shown me to be cautious. Still though, I feel good about Mr. Ford's understanding of our cause and what we are looking for. Once again, Time will tell.
