Today would have been our granddaughter; Heavenlee Angel Skie's 10th birthday. Sadly, we were deprived of her beautiful smile because of neglect resulting from an accident. She passed away 2 years ago this Thanksgiving. We struggle daily as the pain still lingers. We will never forget her or how much we loved her. I still struggle to fulfill a promise I made to her on Christmas Day, 2009, shortly after the accident that left her paralyzed. Sadly, the Indiana General Assembly, led by the Indiana House Republicans and the Indiana Senate GOP have chosen to place the life of a dog in higher regard than that of a Hoosier child.
